Waterkeepers Bahamas Cadets Testimonials
I am Faith Delva , and I am apart of Waterkeepers Bahamas. I’ve recently join Waterkeepers Cadets during the month of March 2020. This has given me the opportunity to socialize with like-minded people that have the same interest and enthusiasm about the ocean and the environment as I do. So far I’ve learn about the reefs and the different species of coral fish and algae. Also, we have learned about scientific and engineering practices which include asking questions and defining problems. From my understanding science questions ask what exist and what happens. Why does it happen , and how does one know? While engineering question ask , what can be done to address a particular human need or want? How can the need be better specified , and what tools and technologies are available, or could be developed, for addressing this need? I am euphoria to gain more knowledge about the reefs and the upcoming challenges that I may face. Thank you

Waterkeepers Bahamas Cadet - Bishop Michael Eldon SchoolHi my Name is Isabelle Petty. I am a Waterkeeper Cadet and I have been apart of the Cadets for two years. Within the Cadet program I have learned that the earth is a loving planet which nurtures and protects all people and species without discrimination. I have come to realize through the Cadets that Earth is so much more that simply our environment. I have become moved to protect it the same way I would protect myself. Our cadet advisors are dedicated, sincere and committed to educating the public and during this time of Covid-19 that hasn’t changed. They have remained steadfast in keeping us up to date and informed on what’s happening with this pandemic. As I close I would like to say stay home stay safe and God Bless

Waterkeepers Bahamas Cadet - Sunland Baptist AcademyMy name is Tony Munnings and I’m apart of Waterkeepers Bahamas. So far this year we have learned about science and engineering practices. One of which were asking questions and defining problems. So far I’ve gathered that science questions and engineering questions both ask how does one communicate about phenomena, evidence, explanations and design solutions. To distinguish between the two, science questions ask what happens and what exist. While engineering ask what can be done to address a particular human need or want. Also we are continuing to learn about the reefs and different species of fish, coral and algae.

Waterkeepers Bahamas Cadet - St. Georges High SchoolGreetings, my name is Clarence Cash II and I am one of the newly recruited waterkeepers cadets. This program has taught me many new things about the many different species of marine life and ways in which they are protected and their habitats also about their characteristics. I also learned about coral reefs and coral patches and the ways in which mankind has eliminated lots of them, but also on ways in which I can help to protect them. This program has given me a new perspective about the ocean and its children and one day I hope I too can help preserve it.

Waterkeepers Bahamas Cadet - Jack Hayward High SchoolMy Name is Cortez Role and I am a 16 year-old senior and Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Academy, and third year Cadet. During my time in this program, it helped me to grow mentally and physically while learning the things that would help me in the near future. Before joining this program, I was a shy, young introverted child who didn’t like to talk to many people, but during this program, it helped me to grow and become more of an open minded person and be more open about to say what I am feeling and thinking. And after the program, I became a person who did not let any negative comments or things that people said about me affect who I am and who I will become.
